NewsACA Urges Support of Foundation for Chiropractic Progress CampaignThe American Chiropractic Association recognizes the importance of positive public relations for the chiropractic profession and works on a daily basis to proactively educate patients and combat negative media coverage of chiropractic. Unfortunately, many Americans still harbor outdated or inaccurate opinions of the chiropractic profession, which prevents them from visiting doctors of chiropractic and receiving the benefits of chiropractic care. Although the ACA and other chiropractic groups understand the importance of a national public relations program, each group individually cannot support a budget large enough to conduct an effective and sustained national campaign. The Foundation for Chiropractic Progress (F4CP) has provided a forum for the chiropractic profession to pool its resources and confront this problem head-on. By enlisting the expertise of public relations and marketing experts outside the profession, the F4CP will be well poised to create a message that will improve the public’s image of the chiropractic profession. In order for a first class campaign to be developed, properly executed and sustained, however, it must receive strong financial support from all facets of the profession. The ACA has already expressed its support for the F4CP through a resolution passed by its House of Delegates in September 2005 and has begun providing in-kind contributions to the campaign. The ACA urges its members and doctors of chiropractic across the country to join together in support of the F4CP campaign and contribute to this important effort. – Felicity Feather Clancy (ACA - Vice President of Communications) |
