SPECIAL MESSAGE FROM DR. FAB MANCINI

Dear Doctor:

It’s likely that you recently received an email from Dr. Dan Murphy regarding his support for the Foundation for Chiropractic Progress.

I am also supporting this effort, and I am writing you to urge you to join me.  Here’s why:

At best, 10% of the population utilize chiropractic care and when they think about chiropractic they think just about neck and back pain.  For a long time, the chiropractic profession has needed an united public relations effort to communicate the miracles we see in chiropractic offices every day.  The only way we can get our story across to the entire nation is to band together and finance the kid of major consciousness-raising campaign that we urgently need and cannot afford to carry on as individual practitioners or through our associations.

This realization has been steadily growing among many of us in recent years.  And now, as you may have heart, it has found expression in the kind of joint action we have all been hoping for.

Leadership elements of the profession have launched The Foundation for Chiropractic Progress, a non-profit 501(c) 6 Corporation.  Its sole purpose is to help the sick and suffering in our society understand how chiropractic treatment could help them.

To make this happen, many groups and individuals have joined hands, including the ICA, COCSA and ACC; many chiropractic colleges like Northwestern, Life West, Palmer and Parker; major publications including D.C. Products Review; vendors including NCMIC, Foot Levelers and Standard Process; and such leadership in the profession as Drs. Mike Flynn, Bob Hoffman, Mark Sanna, Daryl Wills, Gerry Clum, Tom Klapp and others; and over 21 state associations, along with a growing number of individual DCs.

Comments from members of the profession about this new venture have been overwhelmingly favorable.  A sample of these comments can be found at:  http://www.foundation4cp.com/testimonials.htm.

And with the financial support the Foundation has received so far, it is already running the kind of vigorous nationwide campaign you see big pharmaceutical companies lavish on just one new drug.

Ever since July 2006, and continuing all this year, the Foundation has been running full-page ads featuring a testimonial to chiropractic care by Sarah Harding, Miss Fitness USA 2006, in such magazines as:

Newsweek
The New York Times Magazine
Health
Martha Stewart Living
U.S. News & World Report
Business Week
Working Mother
Sports Illustrated

Reaching a total of more than 18.5 million subscribers.

Fox Network’s telecast of the Ms. Fitness USA 2007 pageant included a powerful pro-chiropractic TV commercial in which the previous year’s winner, Sarah Harding, talked about her own helpful experience with chiropractic treatment.  This commercial could be seen by 150 million households.

More than 128 newspapers in 10 states with 2.8 million subscribers included the Foundation’s March “advertorial” on physical fitness.

Each month, the Foundation sends out one or more Public Service Announcements to over 2,400 AM/FM radio stations, and they are now being carried by 100 stations.  Many of these broadcasts have led to radio interviews with Foundation doctors about the value of chiropractic.

Yes, all this sounds wonderful, doesn’t it?  But let’s not kid ourselves.  Changing public attitudes about chiropractic is not going to happen overnight.  It’s going to take a long, steady pull.  And that requires the financial support of all of us who are fed up with our profession not getting the respect and share of the health care market that it deserves.

Just the occasional donation of $25 or $100 from concerned DCs won’t be enough.

A pledge of a monthly donation amounting to at least $1, $2 or $3 a day from all of us is needed for this campaign to be continued and expanded.  Your monthly donation can be automatically deducted from your credit card.  So, you’ll hardly notice it.  But, little by little, over the months and years, you will begin to notice the steady growth in your practice.

So now, for your own sake, please join us!

I have made my pledge of monthly support.

Won’t you please take a moment to send in your pledge as well?  Those who are supporters also have access to Foundation ads and tips on marketing their practices locally.

Sincerely yours,

Dr. Fab Mancini
President, Parker Chiropractic College
